Different Kinds of Mixtures

Solution-is a mixture of 2 or more substances in which one dissolve the other. It is a mixture in which the solid particles spread evenly throughout the liquid.

Suspension- a mixture in which solid particles settle at the bottom if left and not shook.

Colloids- fine particles floating in the water that do not set at the bottom even when not shook.

Homogenous-is a fine mixture or has no solid in it.

Heterogenous-is a mixture that is not fine with bits of the other substance floating or settling at the bottom.

Phase-visibly distinct portion of matter.

Tyndall effect-when light can go through a mixture.

Emulsions-a "try to mixture"that makes layers because they are not chemically combined.
