Dirt The Movie

Dirt, what is it? Last class I watched a documentary about dirt, the documentary shows what dirt is and the uses of dirt, it also shows what we are doing to dirt that will destroy it and we will not be able to use it anymore for other stuff. So back to the question, what is dirt? Dirt is a thing that has living organisms inside that plants can feed of to grow and flourish. Dirt was originated after the ice age as living organisms originated and came to live inside of it. What is the problem today with dirt? Today we are destroying dirt to get other resources that we think are more valuable to us, an example of destroying dirt is digging it up and leaving it for the wind or water to blow or wash it away. There are many examples of this like pesticides, it can kill some of the organisms inside and the nutrients wont be there anymore for the plants, or building over dirt can also destroy it. Industrial farming also hurts soil when taking the roots out and then the wind picks it up and and dumps it somewhere because there were no roots to keep it from flying off.

The earth needs dirt to grow plants and these plants will make food, energy and oxygen for us, so no dirt no life on earth!
